At L & L Couples Retreat, our mission is to nurture and strengthen relationships through compassionate counseling and transformative retreats. We empower couples to rediscover connection, communicate effectively, and navigate challenges together. With a holistic approach, we create a safe and supportive environment where love can flourish, fostering lifelong partnerships built on understanding, respect, and shared growth.
We first noticed each other at TGI Fridays on a warm evening in June, 2010. A brief exchange of smiles and a few glances that lingered just a little too long was enough to spark curiosity. A week later, fate intervened when a mutual friend made the introduction, and suddenly, the silent connection between us became real.

Over the years, we’ve learned that the key to our relationship is truly listening to one another—not just hearing words but understanding their meaning. Even when we don’t see eye to eye, we always respect each other’s feelings. That respect has been the foundation of our love, keeping us strong through every challenge and triumph.

The most defining moments of our relationship are December 2012, when Yusuf proposed and May 24, 2014, the day we exchanged vows. That morning, just hours before saying “I do,” Yusuf shared a heartfelt Facebook post, that was a raw and beautiful expression of his love and commitment to us. In that moment, the lingering nerves melted away and were replaced by a certainty that this was exactly where we were meant to be.

Throughout our marriage, we have remained intentional about keeping our connection strong. A weekly date night is non-negotiable—a sacred time to tune into each other, away from the distractions of daily life. Laughter is another constant, woven into our everyday moments, from the reels we send each other to the easy humor that fills our conversations. Whether during late-night pillow talk or spontaneous jokes on date nights, we know that joy is essential to our love.
If our relationship were a movie, it would be Love & Basketball—a story of passion, resilience, and a love that stands the test of time. Together, we continue writing our own version of the classic tale, proving that love, like the best games, is won through dedication, trust, and an unbreakable partnership.
